Your denture questions answered

What are dental implants?

Dentures are removable dental appliances that restore your smile by replacing missing teeth and surrounding tissues. Your team of Celebrate Dental denture experts can walk you through your options to determine which type is best for you.

What is a denture arch?

A single denture arch replaces either all of your upper or all of your lower teeth. You will need two denture arches to replace all of your teeth. Each arch consists of customizable teeth and an acrylic base made to a shade that resembles your gums. At Celebrate Dental, you can choose from a variety of gum and teeth shades that look as natural as your own—so your smile will, too.

How long do dentures last?

With proper care, dentures typically last between 5 and 10 years, depending on the durability of their material and how well you care for them.

Are dentures comfortable?

Dentures can take some time getting used to, but don’t worry, you’ve got this! Within the first few weeks of wearing them, your dentures will feel more comfortable as you practice speaking and even reading aloud. Of course, your Celebrate Dental care team with be with every step of the way, too.

Can dentures be worn while sleeping?

Your Celebrate Dental dentist recommends that dentures be removed at night to keep your gums healthy and prevent inflammation, bacterial growth or a fungal infection, such as Candidiasis which is caused by a variant of yeast called Candida, from forming within your mouth.

How do I clean my dentures?

Taking care of dentures is an easy process and will help them to last longer. It’s best to clean them daily with a soft-bristled brush and denture cleaner or mild soap. Never use toothpaste to clean your dentures, as they contain abrasives that can create small scratches on the surface of your denture, making it prone to staining and bacterial build-up. If you need further guidance, our team can help you find denture-friendly supplies at an Celebrate Dental near you.

Can dentures be repaired if they break?

Yes, dentures can often be repaired if they break. At many Celebrate Dental locations, we offer same-day repairs right in our on-site labs. It’s important that your team of Denture Experts professionally repairs any breaks or cracks to ensure optimal fit and comfort.

How do I know if dentures are right for me?

If you have missing teeth and are ready to restore your smile at an affordable price, dentures can be a great option. Schedule a consultation with your Celebrate Dental dentist near you to discuss your options.

Are there different types of dentures?

Dental implants can provide a lifetime of benefits, including improved oral health, increased confidence and self-esteem, and better functionality and comfort compared to traditional dentures or bridges.

Are there any downsides to dental implants?

Yes, there are several types of dentures, including full dentures, partial dentures and implant-supported dentures.

How do I adjust to eating with dentures?

As you adjust to your new dentures, we recommend starting with soft foods and cutting them into small pieces. It’s best to chew slowly and use both sides of your mouth to distribute pressure evenly. For more tips, visit our eating with dentures resource or discuss tips with your Celebrate Dental care team can provide more insight into living with your new smile as you heal.

Do I need to replace my dentures periodically?

Yes, you may need to replace your dentures every 5 to 10 years, as the shape of your mouth changes over time. General wear and tear also factor into the longevity of your smile. Your Celebrate Dental dentist can advise you on when it’s time for new dentures.

I started my braces journey 2/2022 and I am so happy to finally reach the end. I gave hates coming to any of these clinics. The worst experience is the one at desert inn. From the first time I got my braces placed I was in so much pain for about 2 weeks. I continued calling and trying to be seen and making appts. And they always pushed me out several weeks when I had an emergency. I called crying to be seen and when the orthodontist finally saw me he removed the bracket in my tooth and the pain was finally gone. He fixed the issue but being seen was such a hassle. I knew moving forward that it was just going to be so difficult. It seems as though they book more than they are able to see. Getting braces is a long commitment and if your busy or your schedule changes or you call to reschedule be ready to be booked forward at least 3 weeks prolonging your experience. It’s honestly been such a hassle. And at this point I don’t even care if my treatment was fully completed I’m just ready to cut ties with this company.

This office is the ABSOLUTE BEST! I am not one to leave reviews but they deserve every good review they get! I have had some awful embarrassing dental issues and the dentists have been nothing but understanding and compassionate. Every person I have encountered in this office has been SO nice, supportive and amazing. I am very thankful for them as I have been treated awful at some other places. It took me a year to muster up the courage to make these appointments and I am SO grateful that I found this office. 💕

Both Dr. Allen & Cadden were outstanding along with the entire staff. I had two extractions & a bridge - extremely nervous about the procedure. Went far easier than I anticipated, they explained everything - went above & beyond to make sure I was comfortable. Dentist for life!!
