Your implant denture questions answered

What are implant dentures?

Implant dentures are an enhanced version of traditional or conventional dentures. They fit onto permanent dental implants that are surgically placed in your jaw so your smile fits securely and you can eat with confidence. Implant dentures go by many names, such as:

  • Snap-in denture
  • Snap-on denture
  • Hybrid denture
  • Denture implant
  • Overdenture
  • Implant-supported denture

Regardless of which name they go by, removable dentures that secure onto implants provide stability and comfort by being secured into place, eliminating any need for adhesives.

How long do implant dentures last?

How long implant dentures last is dependent on which part of your smile—the implants or the denture—you’re referring to. Implant dentures are comprised of 2-4 implants per arch (an arch refers to a row of teeth, so you have two arches in your mouth) and 1 denture that sits atop those implants. So, let’s break down the longevity of an implant denture based on its components:
Implant: With proper care, your dental implants can last 25+ years
Denture: On average, dentures last about 10 years with proper care¹. To get the most out of your smile, the American Dental Association (ADA) recommends having your denture professionally assessed by your dentist every 5 to 7 years.

Do implant dentures look real?

Yes, they can look real. In fact, with Celebrate Dental, your implant denture is customizable with:

  • A precise impression for your most comfortable fit
  • 27 tooth shades for a smile that looks natural
  • 4 gum shades to blend in with your gums

What’s the difference between dentures and implant dentures?

Dentures rest atop your gums and need to be secured into place using adhesives. This can lead to difficulties in eating a wide range of healthy foods, and can limit you in the healthy options available to you that you’re able to chew.

Implant dentures snap onto implants in your mouth, making them more secure and easier to use for eating without adhesives. While the dentures are removable for easy cleaning, the implants are permanent.

Do implant dentures snap-in?

Yes. Implant dentures “snap-in” when you place the denture overtop of your implants and press them into place.
What are implant dentures
Implant dentures, also known as snap-in dentures or implant-supported dentures, are an enhanced version of traditional or conventional dentures. They fit on top of permanent dental implants that are surgically place in your jaw so your smile is both removable and secure, so eating and cleaning is easier than ever.

What is the success rate of implant dentures?

When it comes to implant dentures, the success rate refers to the implants being placed in your jaw and how successfully they fuse with your jawbone. With this in mind, implant dentures have a high rate of success at 98%², which makes them more stable and durable than traditional dentures.
²Frisch, E., et al (2020 July) Long-term results of implants and implant-supported prostheses under systematic supportive implant therapy: A retrospective 25-year study.

Is it easier to eat with implant dentures?

In comparison to traditional/conventional dentures, yes. Because your denture will be secured into place with permanent implants, chewing is easier. In fact, implant dentures have 3x the bite force of traditional dentures, which is why you can eat more of the foods you love without the need for adhesives.

Will the implant denture procedure be painful?

It’s normal for patients to feel some discomfort and pain along their implant denture journey, specifically for a day or two after the implants are placed in your jaw, or if you need extractions.
At Celebrate Dental, we do everything we can to keep you as comfortable during the process, so you can get back to enjoying life your way as soon as possible.

Appointment at 10am still waiting in the lobby. Guy in the front apologize but no real help. He claims they are behind yet I hear laughing and giggling from the back. If we're here at our scheduled appointment time we shouldn't have to wait 45 mins to get called to the back. Maybe 5 mins acceptable wait time but not 45 mins. And just reading the comments its a common issue. Im glad i didnt actually get seen at this location because It's a waste of my time and money. You guys really need to have a better operation and train your people better.

Title: A dental clinic : A bad Celebrate Dental and Braces Clinic.Recently ‏, I visited the Celebrate dental clinic, and unfortunately, their work and treatment were disappointing. Specifically, they refused to reattach a temporary crown on my wife’s tooth after it fell off just one day after being placed due to their poor workmanship. This crown was supposed to remain in place until they installed the permanent one in two weeks.I am not grateful any more for their bad behavior for me and my wife because of a bad staff in the check in also.

I couldn’t figure out how to edit my review last review. This place is a hot mess to say the least.I’ve told schedulers on multiple occasions I only wanted to be scheduled with Dr Tyler as he was very professional kind and considerate of all my previous dental trauma and why I ended up needing two extractions in the first place. Unfortunately I still got scheduled with not only a different but new Dr there for some of the work I needed done. I haven’t been back since. The new Dr and the dental assistant were very rude. He didn’t numb me properly or wait long enough inbetween the numbing shots. She kept stabbing me in the mouth with the suction all while basically water boarding me at the same time. I’ve been working up the courage to call and schedule just my routine appointment and because the filling placed is already loose. Unable to schedule online Took me calling the office at least 5 times before someone finally decided to answer the phone and sounded like it was a giant inconvenience for him “ugh hello” “hi I need to schedule an appointment” “for what?”Some professional consistency from this place would be nice.

I recently had a very disappointing experience at this dental office. I came in for a routine teeth cleaning and ended up feeling frustrated and undervalued as a patient. After waiting in the chair for what felt like forever, they finally did the x-rays. Then the hygienist handed me a pair of protective glasses that were absolutely filthy. When I asked if I could clean them, he gave me attitude instead of addressing the issue professionally. What followed was even more baffling — he told me the doctor would be in soon and made no effort to actually clean my teeth. When I questioned if this was their normal process (because every other office I’ve been to cleans teeth before the doctor examines them), his attitude got worse. He finally did a rushed, half-hearted polish and seemed unsure of how to floss properly. Honestly, I was ready to walk out.The doctor came in, scraped my teeth a couple of times, and declared everything was fine. The lack of care and professionalism from the hygienist was shocking. I expect a basic level of cleanliness, courtesy, and competence from a dental visit, and unfortunately, this experience missed the mark on all fronts.I won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend this office to others.

When I first started going here, it was because they were close to home & accepted my insurance. Now, I wouldn’t go anywhere else. The entire staff, from the front desk all the way to clinical staff are all so kind & patient. I have had major anxiety going to the dentist in the past, and although I still occasionally have a “death grip” on the arms of the chairs, I am much more relaxed due to their comforting demeanor.Dr Barnes is phenomenal & I am so pleased he’s been able to restore my smile after an accident that left a few of my teeth in rough shape. You guys truly have changed my life!Thank you!!

Today was an excellent visit, super attentive staff at the front desk, and they called my name super fast.Jennifer was the assistant that helped me out and she was super sweet and attentive with me, she took her time to do my cleaning and she was giving me some advices and tips on what to do moving forward to better take care of my smile, all this while she was doing my cleaning.Dr Mbata was super helpful and attentive and answered all my questions. After that she recommended me a place to get my wisdom teeth removed, so she took her time to give me the necessary paperwork to referred me to an oral surgeon and she explained exactly how everything was going to be.First of many visits, Great place!
