Your general dentistry FAQs answered

What are general dental services?

General dental services include routine check-ups and cleanings, fillings for cavities, and extractions for damaged or overcrowded teeth. Root canals save and repair infected teeth, while gum disease treatments manage periodontal problems. Crowns and bridges repair or replace teeth, and dentures replace multiple missing teeth.

These services maintain oral health and prevent serious problems. Your Celebrate Dental dentist can provide these treatments and create a personalized care plan for you.

How often should I visit a dentist for a check-up?

It is recommended to visit the dentist for a check-up and cleaning at least twice a year. These regular visits help prevent dental problems and detect issues early when they are easier to treat.

What should I expect during a dental check-up?

During a dental check-up, your dentist will typically examine your teeth, gums, and mouth for any signs of decay, gum disease, or other dental issues. A professional cleaning will also be performed to remove plaque and tartar buildup.

What is the best way to prevent dental cavities?

Preventing dental cavities requires good oral hygiene habits like brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, flossing every day, eating a balanced diet, and limiting sugary snacks and drinks.

Can general dental services help treat gum disease?

Yes, general dental services include treatments for gum disease, ranging from routine cleanings to more extensive procedures like scaling and root planing, depending on the severity of the disease.

What are dental fillings and when do I need one?

Dental fillings are used to restore teeth damaged by decay back to their normal function and shape. If you have a cavity, a dental filling helps prevent further decay by closing off spaces where bacteria can enter.

What types of dental cleanings are available?

There are several types of dental cleanings, including prophylaxis (regular cleaning), which is suitable for people with healthy gums, and scaling and root planing for those with gum disease.

How can I improve my smile with general dental services?

General dental services that improve your smile include teeth whitening, dental veneers, bonding, and orthodontic treatments. Your dentist can recommend the best options based on your oral health and cosmetic goals.

What should I do in case of a dental emergency?

In case of a dental emergency, such as severe pain, a broken tooth, or bleeding, you should contact your dentist immediately. Many dental offices offer emergency services or will direct you to an emergency dentist.

The only thing I don’t like is they don’t have a way to pay online! So trying to pay for your braces when you get paid and they are closed is a lot harder and then you get late fees.

Everyone was very friendly and professional, the doctor came in introduce him self, he was very nice and explained what he was doing and what needed to be done. When my granddaughter and I left the office, I asked her what she thought, she told me that she liked the doctor and the lady that cleans her teeth, they didn’t hurt her and they made her feel under afraid. She gave them all A+.

I wish I could rate them 100 stars! My husband is a wheelchair user and paralyzed on his left side. This has been an issue with other dentists because of his mobility issues. They were so understanding about his OT and I getting him set up and staying with him. He also hasn't been to a dentist since he was a child, and his stroke really effected his oral health. The dental assistant and dentist were both extremely kind and not at all judgmental. My husband was in r afraid of his appointment today, and left the appointment no longer being afraid! I would recommend this practice to anyone and everyone!
