Your denture questions answered

What are dental implants?

Dentures are removable dental appliances that restore your smile by replacing missing teeth and surrounding tissues. Your team of Celebrate Dental denture experts can walk you through your options to determine which type is best for you.

What is a denture arch?

A single denture arch replaces either all of your upper or all of your lower teeth. You will need two denture arches to replace all of your teeth. Each arch consists of customizable teeth and an acrylic base made to a shade that resembles your gums. At Celebrate Dental, you can choose from a variety of gum and teeth shades that look as natural as your own—so your smile will, too.

How long do dentures last?

With proper care, dentures typically last between 5 and 10 years, depending on the durability of their material and how well you care for them.

Are dentures comfortable?

Dentures can take some time getting used to, but don’t worry, you’ve got this! Within the first few weeks of wearing them, your dentures will feel more comfortable as you practice speaking and even reading aloud. Of course, your Celebrate Dental care team with be with every step of the way, too.

Can dentures be worn while sleeping?

Your Celebrate Dental dentist recommends that dentures be removed at night to keep your gums healthy and prevent inflammation, bacterial growth or a fungal infection, such as Candidiasis which is caused by a variant of yeast called Candida, from forming within your mouth.

How do I clean my dentures?

Taking care of dentures is an easy process and will help them to last longer. It’s best to clean them daily with a soft-bristled brush and denture cleaner or mild soap. Never use toothpaste to clean your dentures, as they contain abrasives that can create small scratches on the surface of your denture, making it prone to staining and bacterial build-up. If you need further guidance, our team can help you find denture-friendly supplies at an Celebrate Dental near you.

Can dentures be repaired if they break?

Yes, dentures can often be repaired if they break. At many Celebrate Dental locations, we offer same-day repairs right in our on-site labs. It’s important that your team of Denture Experts professionally repairs any breaks or cracks to ensure optimal fit and comfort.

How do I know if dentures are right for me?

If you have missing teeth and are ready to restore your smile at an affordable price, dentures can be a great option. Schedule a consultation with your Celebrate Dental dentist near you to discuss your options.

Are there different types of dentures?

Dental implants can provide a lifetime of benefits, including improved oral health, increased confidence and self-esteem, and better functionality and comfort compared to traditional dentures or bridges.

Are there any downsides to dental implants?

Yes, there are several types of dentures, including full dentures, partial dentures and implant-supported dentures.

How do I adjust to eating with dentures?

As you adjust to your new dentures, we recommend starting with soft foods and cutting them into small pieces. It’s best to chew slowly and use both sides of your mouth to distribute pressure evenly. For more tips, visit our eating with dentures resource or discuss tips with your Celebrate Dental care team can provide more insight into living with your new smile as you heal.

Do I need to replace my dentures periodically?

Yes, you may need to replace your dentures every 5 to 10 years, as the shape of your mouth changes over time. General wear and tear also factor into the longevity of your smile. Your Celebrate Dental dentist can advise you on when it’s time for new dentures.

I couldn’t figure out how to edit my review last review. This place is a hot mess to say the least.I’ve told schedulers on multiple occasions I only wanted to be scheduled with Dr Tyler as he was very professional kind and considerate of all my previous dental trauma and why I ended up needing two extractions in the first place. Unfortunately I still got scheduled with not only a different but new Dr there for some of the work I needed done. I haven’t been back since. The new Dr and the dental assistant were very rude. He didn’t numb me properly or wait long enough inbetween the numbing shots. She kept stabbing me in the mouth with the suction all while basically water boarding me at the same time. I’ve been working up the courage to call and schedule just my routine appointment and because the filling placed is already loose. Unable to schedule online Took me calling the office at least 5 times before someone finally decided to answer the phone and sounded like it was a giant inconvenience for him “ugh hello” “hi I need to schedule an appointment” “for what?”Some professional consistency from this place would be nice.

I recently had a very disappointing experience at this dental office. I came in for a routine teeth cleaning and ended up feeling frustrated and undervalued as a patient. After waiting in the chair for what felt like forever, they finally did the x-rays. Then the hygienist handed me a pair of protective glasses that were absolutely filthy. When I asked if I could clean them, he gave me attitude instead of addressing the issue professionally. What followed was even more baffling — he told me the doctor would be in soon and made no effort to actually clean my teeth. When I questioned if this was their normal process (because every other office I’ve been to cleans teeth before the doctor examines them), his attitude got worse. He finally did a rushed, half-hearted polish and seemed unsure of how to floss properly. Honestly, I was ready to walk out.The doctor came in, scraped my teeth a couple of times, and declared everything was fine. The lack of care and professionalism from the hygienist was shocking. I expect a basic level of cleanliness, courtesy, and competence from a dental visit, and unfortunately, this experience missed the mark on all fronts.I won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend this office to others.

When I first started going here, it was because they were close to home & accepted my insurance. Now, I wouldn’t go anywhere else. The entire staff, from the front desk all the way to clinical staff are all so kind & patient. I have had major anxiety going to the dentist in the past, and although I still occasionally have a “death grip” on the arms of the chairs, I am much more relaxed due to their comforting demeanor.Dr Barnes is phenomenal & I am so pleased he’s been able to restore my smile after an accident that left a few of my teeth in rough shape. You guys truly have changed my life!Thank you!!

Today was an excellent visit, super attentive staff at the front desk, and they called my name super fast.Jennifer was the assistant that helped me out and she was super sweet and attentive with me, she took her time to do my cleaning and she was giving me some advices and tips on what to do moving forward to better take care of my smile, all this while she was doing my cleaning.Dr Mbata was super helpful and attentive and answered all my questions. After that she recommended me a place to get my wisdom teeth removed, so she took her time to give me the necessary paperwork to referred me to an oral surgeon and she explained exactly how everything was going to be.First of many visits, Great place!
